Auto Zoom

Auto Zoom adds punch-in zooms, the zoom-in-on-emphasis look common in talking-head and social videos. Open the Auto Zoom dialog, build a list of zooms, then apply them to the timeline. It works in both After Effects and Premiere.

  1. Generate the list: Build the zooms one of four ways. Only AI suggest spends AI credits.

    • AI suggest picks the strongest moments from your captions or the timeline audio (the Based on setting), then adds zooms where it left long gaps, so Amount (a zoom about every 25, 15, or 9 seconds) holds and the video always opens on a zoom. With no captions, Based on starts on the timeline audio, and transcribing it uses extra AI credits
    • Rhythm, a zoom every 25, 15, or 9 seconds (the Amount setting), each starting on a sentence when there are captions. Instant, no AI credits
    • Markers, one zoom per marker
    • Cuts, one zoom per shot

  2. Add and edit zooms: Add a zoom by picking a span of transcript words.

    • Review the list and edit each span
    • Type a zoom amount from 101% to 200%, per zoom or for all at once
    • Remove any you do not want

  3. Motion and anchor point: Set how each zoom moves, where it centers, and how far it goes.

    • Each zoom holds until the speech pauses or the picture cuts, drifting slightly, then lets go there. The picture is left alone for a few seconds before the next zoom starts
    • Pick the direction: Zoom in-out, Zoom in (holds, no pull-back), Zoom out, Alternate, where a zoom in hands over to the next zoom instead of jumping back, or AI decides, where the model picks the move for each moment
    • Set the zoom-in and zoom-out speed separately: Snap, Fast, Medium, Slow, or Very slow
    • Pick the easing curve for the push-in and the pull-back separately, in the same curve editor the animator uses, including your saved curves
    • Place the center with the anchor-point picker and its live framing preview
    • Drag a corner of its framing box to set the max zoom. AI suggest keeps every zoom at or under it, and higher zooms come down to it

  4. Hosts: MotionCaption applies the zooms for you in both After Effects and Premiere, with no manual keyframes.
