No. Everything happens in the MotionCaption panel: transcribe, pick a preset, generate. If you do know After Effects, the captions arrive as real text layers, so you can take them further.

No. It comes with 400 starter AI credits, about 6.7 hours of cloud transcription, and they do not renew. Once they are spent, you can buy credit packs from $4.99 for 200 credits, or subscribe to Pro for 800 a month. Everything that needs no credits has no usage limit.

The purchase includes 1 year of updates and priority support. After that you keep the version you have, your licence does not expire, and there is no subscription. Renewing is optional, costs $24.99 a year, and only matters if you want the newer versions. If you renew after a gap, you pay for one year from that day and nothing for the time in between. Pro always has the latest version while it is active.

You get two options, both covering 99 languages. Transcription on your own machine is free, unlimited, and works offline. Cloud transcription is the more accurate of the two, both on the words themselves and on per-word timing. It runs on AI credits, and the free trial and both paid plans start with some.

No file needed. Transcription gives every word its own timing, and the Captions panel formats captions word by word. If a word lands early or late, fix it in Retime. You can still import an SRT, TXT, or CSV when you already have one.

Yes, in two ways. In the Motion tab, select your clips and click a zoom. A constant Zoom In or Zoom Out runs slowly across the whole clip, and the Intro and Outro animations (Scale In, Scale Out and 30+ more) play at its start or end. The zoom sits on the clip or layer itself, with no adjustment layer and no keyframes for you to set. Auto Zoom is the second way. It places punch-in zooms across a whole video from AI suggestions, a steady rhythm, your markers or your cuts, and builds each one for you.

Yes. Clean Up finds the pauses in your timeline audio and removes them. You set the level that counts as silence (in dB), the shortest pause to cut, and the padding kept at each end of a cut. It runs on your machine and uses no AI credits.

Yes. Viral Moments reads your transcript and ranks the strongest moments, each with a hook and one line on why it works. Mark them on your timeline, or cut each one into its own comp or sequence. The new comp or sequence keeps your frame size, so reframe and export it the way you usually do. Each run uses AI credits, like the other cloud tools.

Yes. Right-click any preset to open its settings: text styles, highlights, backgrounds, animations, effects, and transitions. Those settings also hold the Style Generator (the Random button), which makes new looks from that preset. In After Effects the captions arrive as native text layers, so anything After Effects can do to a text layer, you can do to a caption. Use the Styles tab to edit caption styles. If you already have your own design, Custom Composition in After Effects uses your composition as the caption look.

Yes. Your license runs on up to 2 devices at once. Open MotionCaption on the device you no longer use and click Deactivate, then activate on the new one with the same license. Lost access to the old machine? Contact support and we will reset your activations.

Yes. The licence covers commercial work. You can use MotionCaption in paid projects and deliver the videos you make with it to your clients. The licence is per person, so your clients do not get a right to install it.
