Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to the most common questions.
MotionCaption is a paid plugin with a free Pro trial, no card needed. It runs 7 days, up to 14 as you try the main features, with every preset, stock media and 50 AI credits. After that, buy once for the core features, with 400 AI credits included, or subscribe to Pro for 800 credits a month and stock media.
Your projects and any styles you saved stay in your After Effects and Premiere files. To keep using the panel, buy MotionCaption once for core captioning plus 400 AI credits, or subscribe to Pro for 800 credits a month and stock media.
Credits pay for the cloud AI features only. Presets, styles, animations, effects, editing, retiming, and transcription on your own machine need none. Cloud transcription costs 1 credit per started minute, so a 10-minute video costs 10. Pro includes 800 credits a month, and you can buy more in credit packs.
No. Captions, the preset library, styles, animation, effects, editing and transcription on your own machine are all in the one-time licence, with no recurring fee. The cloud tools are not a Pro feature either: cloud transcription and translation run on AI credits. The licence comes with 400 to start, and you can buy more in credit packs from $4.99. The small AI suggestions (emoji, highlights, supersize, Auto Zoom) use no credits while your updates are active. What Pro adds is a monthly allowance that renews, plus stock media. You can make finished animated captions without ever subscribing.
No. It comes with 400 starter AI credits, about 6.7 hours of cloud transcription, and they do not renew. Once they are spent, you can buy credit packs from $4.99 for 200 credits, or subscribe to Pro for 800 a month. Everything that needs no credits has no usage limit.
Yes. The licence covers commercial work. You can use MotionCaption in paid projects and deliver the videos you make with it to your clients. The licence is per person, so your clients do not get a right to install it.
